WELCOME TO THE BREAKDOWN SHOT CLOCK CLASSIC REGISTRATION! Breakdown Sports is hosting the 2nd annual event for high school girls’ and boys' basketball teams to participate in — a unique concept that will help coaches, players, officials, and score table operators with the initiation of the shot clock, coming to Minnesota in 2023-24.. In the following pages you will be able to select which event (boys or girls) you would like to register for and input your team's information.

Details

  • Facilities: Anoka-Ramsey Community College and Concordia University-St. Paul.
  • Cost: $115 per team each date or $200 for both (June 18 and June 25, 2024)
  • Team responsibility: Each team will bring ONE person to do book or clock (not shot clock). This person will also get free admission to watch any games prior or after as well.
  • Team and coaches: Teams will be able to bring 15 players and 3 coaches, plus the one book/score clock operator.
  • Format: Each team gets ONE or TWO FULL games (a normal MSHSL game). Games are 36 minutes with 18-minute halves, stop time, and time outs as in a regular season game. High school coaches can coach.
  • If teams play two games, they will have one game off to rest before playing a second game.
  • Officiating: Each game will be officiated by three MSHSL officials. MSHSL state evaluators will be there all day working with officials.
  • Trainers: Full training staffs will be on site.
  • Shot clock: Shot clock operators will be from Breakdown Sports staff.
  • Schedule: Once each team confirms, we will create a full schedule.
  • Media: Media outlets will be present at this event, which will highlight not only the great programs in Minnesota, but also how the new shot clock format will be part of Minnesota high school basketball.
  • Game Film: Each team will receive the FULL GAME FILM after the game that the coaches can share with players for a full opportunity to review your teams.
