WELCOME TO THE BREAKDOWN UP AND COMER CLASSIC REGISTRATION! Breakdown Sports is hosting the event for 7TH THROUGH 9TH girls’ and boys' basketball teams to participate in over the first weekend in August. In the following pages you will be able to select which event (boys or girls) you would like to register for and input your team's information.

TEAM RULES & AGE REQUIREMENTS:

• Players that are eligible must be 9th grade or younger for 2024-25 school year.
• All players MUST BE from their same projected high school program. **No AAU teams.**
• Teams can be assembled in any way, just cannot have anyone older than 9th grade.
• A team can have combination of any grade level.

1. Example 1: Four 9th grade, three 8th grade, two 7th grade.
2. Example 2: Can be all 9th graders, 8th graders, or 7th graders.

• Teams will choose the level of competition.
• We have two divisions, an “A” and “B” division.
• Breakdown Sports staff will communicate with each team on how their team roster is submitted to ensure they are in correct division.

TOURNEY DETAILS:

• Each team will get 3 games guaranteed per day in a tourney format.
• Teams can participate for one date, or both dates.
• If teams play both days, they will get 6 different opponents.
• Each date acts its own tourney.
• Teams will play in a 6-7 hour window, with the goal of a play, sit, play, sit, play format so the entire day is not in the gym.
• PLAY teams from all across Minnesota, different teams and also could include teams from South Dakota, North Dakota, Wisconsin and Iowa.
• CHAMPIONS will be featured in the 2024-25 Breakdown boys' and girls' publications, and receive special recognition from our media staff.

RULES:

• Games are 20 minute running time halves, with the second half being stop time the last 2 minutes.
• 1 overtime with the first team reaching four points. Very popular overtime rule with great excitement.
• 3 Time Outs per team, 1 Time Out in overtime per team.
